good food, good friends, and warm weather

This past weekend was one of those to push you through until warmer weather arrives. We had an almost 80 degree day here (as you can see from my earlier post). I got to catch a few hours on the beach, go for a run, then await the arrival of friends coming into town from DC...looking forward to being back with some UGA alum.
Suzanne, Ally and I ate at one of my favorite spots, Liquid Assets.

 

Set in the middle of a liquor, beer and wine store, Liquid Assets has delicious food in a laid back atmosphere. If you don't care for any of the wines on their extensive list, you can walk yourself over to one the the surrounding shelves, grab a bottle for your table, and have your server add it on to your bill.

to top it off, they have an amazing martini list and serve a different flavor of the famous Smith Island cake every night (my personal fav) for dessert

It was great to spend time with friends from high school who were in town along with my friend Ally from Georgia, who is officially a new resident of DC

needing an update

I recently made a trip to a nearby antique shop that is loaded with tons of unique items. I bought lots of vintage costume jewelry and the owner threw in this little crochet diamond piece I had been eying, for free. So as I see it draped over the back of my toilet everyday (thought it would add a little pizazz to my bathroom) I have been craving some more additions to complete my seemingly bare bathroom.

 

 

so here's to wishing I could snap my fingers and make these additions...

Sometimes (actually what am I kidding myself, most of the time) I need my horoscope to get me through the day. I am a firm believer in zodiac signs and follow very true to the characteristics of a cancer. A certain someone, who was the very person who turned me into a follower of horoscopes, was also a cancer. On the outside, so different, but on the inside we fit and understood each other completely without even words. My horoscope yesterday got me....

today I want to be anywhere but where I am. Preferably in place where it is warm. I have always wanted to go to the Greek Isles. If money was not an issue I think I would drop everything and just go by myself.

and as I was working on this post, looking for pictures online, I came across another blog that I connected with. When you are doubting who is in control and wondering why your life is playing out the way it is, small occurrences like this confirm that there is a bigger picture. It's amazing how some people can touch your life, without even knowing.
